Collections
The library has informative books, reference works, novels and children’s books in various languages, about all kinds of subjects and in different genres. There are considerable collections of DVDs and Blue-ray Disks available, containing films, documentaries, music and cabaret. Moreover the Central Library houses extensive CD music collections and of all public libraries in The Netherlands; the largest collection of sheet music. The computer games collection has been enlarged extensively. Besides the existing PC- and PlayStation 2 games, members can now borrow games for Wii, PayStation 3 and Xbox.

More than books
You might come to the library solely to borrow books, music, films or games but there is so much more to experience: performances, lectures, exhibitions, courses, story telling for children, kids crafts & theatre. If you want you can use the Internet, do you homework or study in the library. Acquaint yourself with the library’s many possibilities and unexpected sides. In short: use the library!

Newspapers
The library offers local, regional, national and foreign newspapers and magazines in over ten languages that you can read for free. You can read the latest editions of more than 700 newspapers from all over the world directly on display screens in nearly all library branches.

Computers
Each library branch has computers at your disposal to search for information. The Hague Public Library has made a number of free digital information sources available on her website. In all Hague libraries you can use wireless internet for free.

Search
Advanced searching for books and other materials can be done with the help of the catalogue via ‘search’ or ‘zoeken’. It contains all materials owned by the library. Here you can check their availability and locations. It is also possible to online reserve and renew books and materials.
