Queer Book Club

The Queer Book Club is back!
This year we’re reading exciting new queer novels and queer classics to start conversations about gender identity, sexuality and navigating queer life in general.
After a brief summer break, the Queer Book Club is back and on Monday, September 15 we will read Miranda July’s novel All Fours, her personal exploration of non-normative sexualities and relationships.
Miranda July has had success as a filmmaker, comedian and author, yet she feels stuck in a heteronormative marriage. One day, July decides to leave this all behind and takes up residence in a road-side motel. What ensues is a journey of reinvention and self-exploration, in which July learns about human intimacy and sexual and romantic freedom.
The session is chaired by Looi van Kessel, assistant professor of literary studies and gender studies at Leiden University. The sessions of the queer book club will be held in English.
