Expositie: Sterke Vrouwen - Moed, Waarheid en Creatieve Expressie

"In een wereld waar cruciale feiten vaak worden weggemoffeld of verdraaid, is het van belang een podium te bieden aan vrouwen die ongeacht de consequenties de waarheid blijven spreken." Ariënne de Bruijn.

Deze expositie toont onder meer een portret van Gisėle Pelicot, die haar anonimiteit opgaf in de rechtszaal en daarmee een maatschappelijke beweging in Frankrijk op gang bracht: La honte change de camp. Ofwel: schaamte hoort niet langer bij het slachtoffer, maar bij de dader. Daarnaast hangt er een portret van Virginia Giuffre, wiens levensverhaal net zo bekend is. Maar er is ook ruimte voor luchtig en experimenteel werk, vervaardigd met houtskool en pastel.

De tentoonstelling is te zien tijdens openingstijden en het werk is te koop. In de maand september is de website ariennedebruijn.nl gelanceerd!

Exhibition: Strong Women - Courage, Truth and Creative Expression

This exhibition shows, among other things, a portrait of Gisėle Pelicot, who gave up her anonymity in the courtroom and thus started a social movement in France: La honte change de camp. In other words: shame no longer belongs to the victim, but to the perpetrator. Next to it is a portrait of Virginia Giuffre, whose life story is just as well-known. Alongside these powerful works, there is room for lighter and more experimental pieces, created with charcoal and pastel.
